What is Fugeno Vedic Hair Shampoo?

Fugeno Vedic Hair Shampoo is a 100 ml sulphate-free cleanser that combines the traditional Indian hair-wash herb shikakai with modern scalp-care actives - niacinamide, caffeine, ceramides and hydrolysed keratin. It is formulated for men and women, for daily use, and for scalps that get oily fast but still have dry, breakage-prone lengths.

The word "vedic" here refers to the ingredient tradition, not a medicinal claim. Shikakai (Senegalia rugata, syn. Acacia concinna) has been used as a hair cleanser across India for centuries because it foams gently and rinses clean at a mildly acidic pH - closer to hair's natural pH than soap-based washes.

How does this ayurvedic shampoo for hair fall work?

Most visible "hair fall" in a shower has two separate causes: hair that was already at the end of its natural cycle, and hair that snapped because it was weakened. This ayurvedic shampoo for hair fall targets the second cause - breakage - and supports the scalp environment the first depends on.

1. It cleans without stripping

The surfactant system is sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, cocamidopropyl betaine and coco glucoside - a sulphate free shampoo base. No SLS or SLES, so the scalp's lipid barrier is not aggressively defatted with every wash.

2. It reinforces the hair fibre

Hydrolysed keratin and hydrolysed rice protein are small enough to deposit into damaged areas of the cuticle. Combined with a ceramide complex and D-panthenol, this improves wet-comb slip, which is when most breakage physically happens.

3. It supports the scalp itself

Niacinamide is well documented for supporting skin-barrier function, and caffeine has been studied on human hair follicles in vitro - Fischer et al., International Journal of Dermatology (2007) reported that caffeine counteracted testosterone-induced suppression of follicle growth in cultured follicles. That is laboratory evidence about an ingredient, not a clinical claim about this finished product.

How to use Vedic Hair Shampoo

Getting the most out of a sulphate free shampoo takes slightly different technique than a foamy SLS wash - it needs contact time, not more product.

  1. Wet hair thoroughly with lukewarm - not hot - water.
  2. Take a 5–10 ml coin-sized amount; use more only for hair past shoulder length.
  3. Emulsify in your palms, then apply to the scalp first, not the lengths.
  4. Massage with fingertips for 45-60 seconds. Do not use nails.
  5. Rinse fully. Repeat only if hair was heavily oiled or product-loaded.
  6. Detangle with a wide-tooth comb while hair is damp, from ends upward.

For best results use it 3 times a week; daily use is safe if your scalp is oily. Give any ayurvedic shampoo for hair fall a full 8-12 weeks before judging results - that is roughly one hair-growth cycle.

Who is this shikakai shampoo for?

Vedic Hair Shampoo suits anyone with an oily or combination scalp, fine-to-medium hair, and visible breakage. It is sulphate-free, so it is also a reasonable choice for colour-treated and keratin-treated hair. If your scalp is flaking heavily, or you are losing hair in defined patches, see a dermatologist - that is a medical issue a shampoo does not solve.

Frequently Asked Questions About FUGENO Vedic Hair Shampoo

Is Fugeno Vedic Hair Shampoo suitable for daily use?

Yes. Vedic Hair Shampoo is sulphate-free, using sarcosinate and isethionate surfactants instead of SLS, so it cleanses without stripping the scalp's lipid barrier. Daily washing is fine for oily and combination scalps. If your scalp is dry, three to four washes a week is usually enough.

Does Fugeno Vedic Hair Shampoo stop hair fall?

It targets hair fall caused by breakage. Hydrolysed keratin, rice protein and a ceramide complex strengthen the hair fibre and improve wet-comb slip, which is where most snapping happens. Hair loss driven by hormones, medication or medical conditions needs a dermatologist - no shampoo resolves that.

Is it suitable for all hair types?

Yes. It is formulated gender-neutral and works across straight, wavy and curly hair, and on fine through medium-thick textures. Very coarse or heavily processed hair may want a richer conditioner afterwards. It is safe on colour-treated and keratin-treated hair because it contains no sulphates.

Will this ayurvedic shampoo dry out my hair?

No. The formula pairs mild surfactants with D-panthenol, aloe ferment, betaine and a ceramide complex, all of which hold moisture in the hair shaft. The most common cause of dryness after washing is water that is too hot, not the shampoo. Use lukewarm water.

Can I use it on a sensitive or itchy scalp?

Generally yes. There are no sulphates and no added parabens, and niacinamide plus aloe ferment help calm the scalp barrier. It does contain phenoxyethanol and fragrance-adjacent botanicals, so if you have known reactive skin, patch-test behind the ear for 24 hours first.

What makes it different from other ayurvedic shampoos?

Most ayurvedic shampoos stop at herbal extracts. This one pairs shikakai with modern actives that have published data behind them - niacinamide for barrier support, caffeine studied on follicles in vitro, ceramides for lipid replacement, and hydrolysed keratin for fibre repair.

How long before I see results?

Softness and reduced breakage during comb-out are usually noticeable within two to three washes. Changes in shedding volume follow the hair growth cycle, so allow eight to twelve weeks of consistent use before judging. Take a photo at week one so you have a baseline.

Is Fugeno Vedic Hair Shampoo sulphate-free and cruelty-free?

Yes. It contains no SLS or SLES and no added parabens, and Fugeno does not test on animals. The full INCI list is published above so you can check every ingredient yourself. Net content is 100 ml (3.38 fl. oz).
